SASANE stands for Samrakshak Samuha Nepal, which translates to Protection Group Nepal in English. Founded as a survivor-led initiative, SASANE works to create safer opportunities, leadership pathways, and long-term empowerment for women in Nepal. Through SASANE Sisterhood, this mission comes to life through meaningful travel experiences rooted in community, resilience, and human connection.
SASANE Sisterhood was created by women who have experienced trafficking, inequality, and other forms of social vulnerability, and who are now building leadership, independence, and sustainable livelihoods through tourism and entrepreneurship. Our work focuses on dignity, opportunity, and empowerment rather than defining women by their past experiences.

Some women may choose to share parts of their personal journeys if they feel comfortable doing so, but SASANE Sisterhood is not built around trauma tourism. Our experiences focus on connection, culture, community, leadership, and authentic human experiences rather than personal hardship. This question is VERY important strategically because it protects dignity while also setting healthy expectations.
SASANE Sisterhood was built on the belief that empowerment should never come at the cost of dignity. We do not center tourism on personal trauma, nor are women expected to share painful experiences with travellers. Any personal storytelling is always based on individual choice, comfort, and boundaries. Our focus is on creating professional opportunities, leadership pathways, entrepreneurship, financial independence, and long-term empowerment through tourism. Women participate as leaders, guides, hosts, entrepreneurs, and decision-makers shaping the experiences themselves. We believe travelers should connect with Nepal through culture, community, and authentic human relationships, not through exploitation or pity. This approach allows tourism to become a space for confidence, opportunity, healing, and leadership rather than re-victimisation.
SASANE Sisterhood creates experiences that go beyond standard tourism. Our journeys are designed around meaningful cultural connection, ethical tourism practices, professional women-led guiding, and long-term community impact. We prioritize fair wages, sustainable livelihoods, responsible travel, and high-quality experiences rather than low-cost mass tourism. Every journey directly supports women building independence, leadership, and long-term opportunities through Nepal’s tourism industry. For travelers, this creates something far more personal and memorable than a standard trip; an experience rooted in genuine human connection, community, and purpose.
